Selena Beaudry’s work is created by marking and cutting up drawings. This has led the artist to
rediscovering her visual language. Her work consists of PILEs, collages and paintings.
The PILES™ collages are thoughts, a series of words or sounds. The collages (cutout) are
lyrical and string together or zig zag across the page.
Color always central to the work and is used in a number of ways. It can be personal, from a
memory or used as a tool like punctuating a sentence. The color shifts subtly as well as
dramatically creating a sense of play in the work.
All of Beaudry’s work has been inspired by her surroundings, adventures and encounters and is
a reflection of her ideas of beauty, indulgence, seduction and frivolity.
